From August 26 to 28 this year, the 30th International EMOK (Association for Marketing Education and Research) Conference was held, hosted by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pécs.

On the pre-conference day, PhD students had the opportunity to present at the PhD Forum, where they received feedback on their research plans. The award for the most promising doctoral presentation in the PhD Master section was won by György Bodon, a PhD student from Corvinus University of Budapest.

The keynote presentation of the XXX. EMOK Conference was delivered by Justin Paul, titled Publishing on Reputed Journals: DOs and DON’Ts. Professor Paul is a highly successful researcher who offered valuable tips for overcoming publication challenges and is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Consumer Studies (IJCS; SJR Q1). In addition to his keynote, the professor also participated in the PhD Forum as both a speaker and a member of the evaluation panel.

The first day of the conference focused on traditional section presentations. Colleagues from leading marketing education institutions across the country, as well as from abroad, presented their current research questions and results across 11 sections. The conference's Best Paper Award was won by Erika Lázár, Ákos Nagy, and Krisztián Szűcs for their paper titled Exploring the Emotional Experience of Using Retail Mobile Applications.

On the second day, participants could delve into 8 highlighted topics in workshops, covering areas from AI to teaching methodology and university-business collaboration. Dóra Horváth, Máté Bollók, and Tamás Csordás, lecturers at Corvinus University of Budapest, won the "MOST INNOVATIVE COURSE" award for the 2023/24 academic year at the EMOK Educational Methodology Competition with their course titled "Integrated Marketing Communications.

A key element of the conference was sustainability, which was reflected in many areas, from plantable name cards made of flower seed paper to an educational game offered instead of traditional promotional gifts. As a result of the points collected and virtual trees nurtured by participants, an EMOK forest of around 100 trees will soon be planted near Barcs, preserving the memory of this year's conference.

As the conference concluded, we were delighted to hand over the organizing baton to the team from Budapest University of Technology and Economics. See you in the summer of 2025!
