In 2024, Pécs will host domestic and international representatives of marketing education and research at the EMOK Conference. The IAB Hungary, a professional organization for digital advertising, awarded the prizes for the 2023 Best Thesis in Digital Marketing competition on March 22. This year, students from a university in Szeged and one in Budapest took home the diploma for the best thesis work.
General Aim
In addition to the traditional sections, EMOK also provides space for the announcement of special sections (workshops), aiming to explore a topic interactively. The workshops differ from the main topics announced by the conference organizers both in format and in the announced themes.

The EMOK PhD Forum was held on February 2, 2024, as a continuation and expansion of the similar event held in February of the previous year. The primary goal of the event was to support collaborations among young marketing researchers and strengthen networks between institutions. Additionally, it aimed to provide another regular meeting opportunity for EMOK community PhD students alongside the summer EMOK conference.

The first EMOK event of 2024, the Artificial Intelligence: New Directions and Challenges in Research and Education workshop, took place on February 2nd at the Budapest Corvinus University, with more than 60 participants. In the morning session of the research methodology workshop, participants learned about basic AI concepts and its role and position in research. In the afternoon, during the educational methodology workshop, educators discussed their experiences with AI in teaching. The day concluded with PhD students forming groups to begin preparations for the summer EMOK conference.
