The summer could not end otherwise than with the EMOK conference, which this year took place in Szeged, the City of Sunshine. Participants not only learned about responses to changing challenges but also experienced the extreme hot summer weather and the effects of the SZIN festival.

The conference started on August 23 with the PhD forum. Young and more experienced doctoral students presented their research topics. Congratulations to Beáta Sikó, who won the Most Promising Doctoral Presentation Award under the supervision of Dr. Balázs Révész. Besides professional programs, participants had the opportunity for squash, padel, table tennis, and swimming, and the day ended with a party.

Recognitions in the field of education were not left out: Dr. Fanni Liska, an instructor at the University of Pannonia, received the award for the most innovative course of the 2022/23 academic year with her course "Internet Marketing."

The best presentation of the conference was the study titled "The Long-term Impact of COVID-19 on Consumer Acceptance of Smart Hotels," presented by Zsófia Cserdi and Zsófia Kenesei from Budapest Corvinus University.

In the international category, the MTA IX. Class Economic Science Committee Marketing Subcommittee Publication Award for the 2022/23 academic year went to the study "Fuduric, M., Varga, A., Horvat, S., & Skare, V. (2022). The ways we perceive: A comparative analysis of manufacturer brands and private labels using implicit and explicit measures. Journal of Business Research, 142, 221-241." The award for the Hungarian-language article went to "Nagy, Á., Németh, P., Kemény, I., & Szűcs, K. (2022). Webrooming és showrooming Magyarországon: Omnichannel vásárlói magatartás a sportcikkek piacán [Webrooming and showrooming in Hungary: Omnichannel consumer behavior in the sports goods market.] Vezetéstudomány, 53(7), 79-93." The award in the textbook category went to "Putzer, P., Józsa, L. (2022). A marketinghatékonyság mérése - Hogyan mérjük a marketinget? [Measuring marketing effectiveness - How do we measure marketing?] Akadémiai Kiadó ISBN: 978 963 454 671 9."

We owe the exciting plenary lectures to Dr. Maciej Mitrega and Dr. Kyoung Mi Choi. It is worth mentioning that the latter, a professor at San Jose State University, traveled a long way to be with us and provide insights into the world of transnational identities.

As a novelty this year, the EMOK conference provided more space for collective thinking by organizing 7 workshops in addition to the 10 conference sections, where participants presented their own experiences, current, and planned research projects alongside the opening lectures.

We were delighted that nearly 140 participants could listen to more than 80 presentations at the event, and many new research connections and ideas emerged. At the gala dinner, participants could taste the authentic and unique fisherman's soup of Szeged, and homemade pálinka gave courage to colleagues to dance.

Congratulations to the awarded colleagues! Thank you for the participation and contribution of everyone! We hope to meet again in Pécs next year!
