The Association of Market Researchers in Hungary awards recognition to outstanding personalities in the market research profession. In 2023, Judit Simon, Professor Emerita of the Institute of Marketing and Communication Sciences, received the association's lifetime achievement award for her exceptionally high-quality educational, domestic and international scientific activities in the field of marketing research, as well as her contributions to scientific mentoring and outstanding professional public life.
Judit Simon is a defining figure in marketing science and education, serving as the director of the Marketing and Media Institute (predecessor of the current Institute of Marketing and Communication Sciences) at Corvinus University between 2008 and 2016. Corvinus University recognized her contributions in 2003 with the University Commemorative Medal and in 2018 with the Corvinus University Gold Medal.
One of the cornerstones of her teaching activities is the establishment and development of the course Marketing Research and Market Analysis (formerly Quantitative Techniques in Marketing Research) and the Hungarian-language Marketing Research book co-authored with Professor Naresh K. Malhotra. Judit Simon is also credited with the organization of the DSG program in collaboration with the University of Passau and served as the head of the German-language Management Center at Corvinus University from 1997 to 2016. Thanks to her outstanding scientific and educational work, the University of Passau awarded her an honorary doctorate in 2014 and granted her an honorary citizenship in 2019.
