The IAB Hungary, a professional organization for digital advertising, awarded the prizes for the 2023 Best Thesis in Digital Marketing competition on March 22. This year, students from a university in Szeged and one in Budapest took home the diploma for the best thesis work.

Out of the 26 entries received for the competition, eight works made it to the finals, of which two contestants and their advisors were awarded monetary prizes. The Media Researcher journal also offered a special prize to the undergraduate winner, which included the opportunity to publish their work. According to the jury's decision, the following theses were the best of 2023:

Undergraduate:

  • Title: "The impact of visual social media content on body image and satisfaction – results of an eye-tracking study among young women"
  • Author: Dér Dorottya Noémi (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Szeged, Commerce and Marketing undergraduate program)
  • Advisor: Huszár Sándor

Master's level:

  • Title: The internet's cute stars
  • Author: Nagy Diána (Corvinus University of Budapest, Marketing Master's program)
  • Advisor: Dr. Csordás Tamás Viktor

The evaluation of the works involved sponsors' representatives Erdélyi Eszter (Atmedia), Néz Kata (OMG), and Török Diána (GroupM), members of the IAB Hungary leadership including Kenessey Adrien project manager, Papliczky Pál managing director, and Sopov István president, as well as members of the IAB Hungary Educators Club, and the Education and Influencer Working Groups.
