The EMOK PhD Forum was held on February 2, 2024, as a continuation and expansion of the similar event held in February of the previous year. The primary goal of the event was to support collaborations among young marketing researchers and strengthen networks between institutions. Additionally, it aimed to provide another regular meeting opportunity for EMOK community PhD students alongside the summer EMOK conference.
Dear Colleagues,
On February 2, 2024, we held our research and educational methodology workshop, during which we were able to attend interesting and useful presentations. One of the closing presentations raised questions regarding the use of artificial intelligence in the process of thesis writing.
The message of the presentation was not primarily about complete prohibition, but rather about exploring possible benefits. The presentation aimed to highlight that there are elements and tasks of thesis writing to which supervisors would find the use of AI ethical – so why don't we assist students in this?
The first EMOK event of 2024, the Artificial Intelligence: New Directions and Challenges in Research and Education workshop, took place on February 2nd at the Budapest Corvinus University, with more than 60 participants. In the morning session of the research methodology workshop, participants learned about basic AI concepts and its role and position in research. In the afternoon, during the educational methodology workshop, educators discussed their experiences with AI in teaching. The day concluded with PhD students forming groups to begin preparations for the summer EMOK conference.
