Abstract

The scope of technological changes: a summary of a conceptual approach

In our study, we focus on the question of how to identify the extent of change resulting from technological change. Nowadays, technological change  alongside the revolution in information technology and digitalization - is causing changes not only in the mix of resources and actors in the intended areas. Rather, they often result in far-reaching changes in a wave-like manner - often in activities, resources and actors operating far from the target area. In our research, we interpret the relevant issues of resource interaction from the industrial network approach of the IMP Group. As a result of our literature review, we conclude that the technical, social and mixed interfaces of resource interaction play a key role in predicting the extent of technological change. These changes in interfaces are captured through information systems, data and network pictures that are the mental representation of network activities.
