Abstract

Social competitiveness in a chaotic world

In light of the accelerating sustainability challenges, it is no longer a question that we have arrived in the era of global chaos, which means that we need to rethink and redefine the “rules of the game” and basic concepts of our previous operations. This also applies to one of the key concepts of the previous period like the competitiveness. It has become clear that competitiveness has not only economic, but also social and even natural environmental conditions and requirements, so the issue of social competitiveness has also come into focus. In this context, the role of social marketing has also become more valuable, since the implementation (and maintenance) of a competitive society is not possible without systematic social marketing that properly shapes the value system (culture). We have been researching this issue for several years, and from time to time it is necessary to review and evaluate our results so far and assess new challenges. Taking into account the limitations of space, we therefore only wish to systematize all of this in a sketchy manner. First, we will outline the characteristics and competitiveness challenges of the chaotic environment, and then, starting from this, we will review the factors of a competitive society. Finally, we will detail the specific challenges of social marketing related to this.
