Abstract

Technology Acceptance of Mobile Commerce Applications – A possible framework

Digitalization has made e-commerce one of the most dynamic areas of economic development nowadays, especially with the spread of mobile devices. Changing shopping habits and technological advances are creating new challenges and opportunities both for businesses and for consumers. In this paper, we elaborated a possible theoretical framework of technology acceptance of mobile commerce applications. Since the emergence of m-commerce apps allows shopping to become more and more present in everyday life in a convenient, fast and interactive way. Especially for younger generations who can be more open to digital innovations. However, we assume that these applications will also need to gain the trust of consumers. In our opinion consumers in this case will also consider technology adoption as a transaction, so the perceived usefulness should outweigh the perceived risks to purchasing on a mobile commerce app. In addition, perceived security would be part of our model, which could have an impact on risks. Based on the TAM2 model, perceived ease of use and subjective norms, i.e. peer influences, may also play a role in the formation of usage intentions.
