The Cursus vitae aureus (Golden Career) Award, established by the Economic Sciences Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), was presented this year to Ágnes Hofmeister-Tóth. The award ceremony took place on November 14, 2024, at the Panorama Hall of the Gellért Campus of Corvinus University of Budapest, during a joint conference organized by the Economic Sciences Committee and the Institute of Data Analysis and Informatics at Corvinus University.

MTA Section IX., Committee on Business Administration, Subcommittee on Industrial and Business Economics, Subcommittee on Marketing Science, and Subcommittee on Management and Organizational Sciences annually award prizes for outstanding scientific work. The Subcommittees aim to recognize and encourage high-quality publication work by academic colleagues through the Publication Excellence Awards.

The public defense of Monica Fabiola Coronel Padilla's doctoral dissertation entitled "BRINGING LONG-HAUL DESTINATIONS CLOSER: THE ROLE OF MUSIC IN DESTINATION PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS" will take place on November 26, 2024 at the Doctoral School of Business and Management of the Corvinus University of Budapest. The supervisors of the dissertation are Anna Irimiás and Ivett Pinke-Sziva.

The public defense of Bence Csapody's doctoral dissertation entitled "UNDERSTANDING LOCALITY THROUGH RESTAURANT AND FOOD FESTIVAL OPERATIONS" will take place on November 26, 2024 at the Doctoral School of Business and Management of the Corvinus University of Budapest. The supervisors of the dissertation are Melinda Jászberényi and Katalin Ásványi.

The EMAC–Sheth Foundation Sustainability Research Competition invites research proposals that address important issues related to sustainability. These include, but are not limited to, responsible production and consumption, gender equality; preservation of physical environment; reduction of poverty and inequality; and improvement of health and wellbeing. Proposals should have a clear marketing focus and address issues of importance to at least one set of marketing stakeholders (e.g., managers, consumers, and public policymakers).

The Faculty of Economics at the University of Pécs will host the 9th Interdisciplinary Symposium on Consumption titled "We Live in Space" on November 14, 2024. The event will take place in person at the Dr. József Halasy-Nagy Hall at the Faculty, but participants may also join online by registering in advance.
